about My Music Projects

“DJ Panda”, “NitroNote”, “ReoR”, “DJ EasyLife”, Absorber… – and there is only sound designer, composer, producer and DJ – Sandris Gravans standing behind these pseudos.

Possibly not like many others musicians, Sandris prefers a momentum creative process over long term composition, and instead looking for music, he lets music to find him. Sandris was in to music and DJing since kindergarten years using his dad’s reel-to-reel tape recorder. In early 90′s he was playing at home & school parties, raves & nightclubs across country as a resident DJ (a.k.a. DJ Panda). In 1996 he took part in “Super FM” radio station, biggest “Latvian DJ Competition” and went up to semifinals where he was competing against other top Djs. That appeared not enough. When he turned 20, in 1998 together with his best mate Rudolfs Skabs they started “music making” project called “NitroNote“. Thanks to DJ Janis Krauklis – the Godfather of Latvian and USSR electronic music dancefloor – their debut album, “Placid Waves”, started the second electronic music wave in Latvia. The album followed with live performances around Latvia and Estonia. In the 1999 they took part in the first international music industry in Latvia forum “Forte Riga”. When the project was over, Sandris just kept on evolving. In 2000 he recorded his first live ambient tape using only one YAMAHA synthesizer “CS1x” with 4 layers, but full of incredibly captivating music which takes you to other worlds. It was the birth of ReoR. In 2003 he was noticed by some documentary makers and was asked to score the music for documentary “Iluzijas cena” (“Price for Illusion“). In 2005 he moved to London, where he got addicted to intelligent and liquid drum and bass. That’s how DJ EasyLife was born: he started to produce drum and bass tracks & studio mixes. At the end of 2005, netlabel “FOEM” released “Voices” by NitroNote on VA “electronic youth vol.12” cd1. During 2008 he moved back to Riga, the capital of Latvia and started to promote his music on the web, under name “My Music Projects” a.k.a. MMP. In 2010 he was noticed by Latvian netlabel “inqb8r” and soon after “Missing Galaxy” EP by ReoR was released. In 2011 he was noticed by Music Production Company “Eclectic”, the tune called “Flashing By” by DJ EasyLife was used for “Land Rover”corporate/online film.

At the moment he is all in to Royalty Free Music/Audio market. Making music for Film, TV, Games ect.
